Curriculum
The Osteopathic Rotating Internship is divided into 13 four-week block rotations. The core curriculum includes rotations in Ward Medicine, Critical Care, OB/GYN, and Surgery. In addition to these, the interns rotate through Emergency Medicine and have two elective choices. Those interns who elect to stay in the Internal Medicine Residency Program after their PGY1 year are also given the Scholarship rotation as described in our program highlights. There is a written curriculum in each of these disciplines, which includes learning objectives, reading list, well-delineated clinical responsibilities, and scheduled teaching sessions for all rotations.
The Osteopathic interns rotate through all the hospitals affiliated with the Medicine Residency Programs.
Osteopathic principles and practice are incorporated throughout the program and curriculum during the PGY 1 year.
