Resident looking through microscope Educational Goals:

Each year of training reflects a continuum of graduated experiences and responsibilities. The program emphasizes growth each year in all core competencies, including medical knowledge, patient care, professionalism, interpersonal skills and communication, practice-based learning and improvement, and systems-based practices. Residents must become familiar with the six competencies of training and understand the goals & objectives of each competency as they relate to the particular year of training.  At the completion of our three-year residency program, residents will be practice-ready and comfortable dealing with patients presenting with the spectrum of diseases ranging from non-life-threatening ambulatory issues to critical, multi-system illness.
